If you celebrate Christmas, do the festivities start for you the day after Thanksgiving? The beginning of December? Or are you one of those all-in, Christmas starts the minute Halloween is over, type people? We usually get our tree the day after Thanksgiving, which to me feels perfect! It gives us a full month to enjoy the tree & decorations, but isn’t crowding in on other holidays. (By the way, I also take the tree down pretty much IMMEDIATELY, once December 26th hits. At that point, I’m ready for Spring, which, unfortunately doesn’t really arrive in Oregon until sometime in April.) Anyway, this December has been a bit of a blur so far. It feels like we’re much further into the month than just 5 days, considering we’ve had our tree up for almost two weeks already. (And I started shopping for gifts in September. What can I say, gifting is my FAVORITE!) But at the same time, I know there is still so much I’d like to do before this season is over! Between the husband being sick, working full time, and working on finals, (he’s in school for his Master’s,) and then ME getting sick, plus a handful of other big tasks, there just hasn’t been a lot of time for fun activities! Looking back on these photos from the Ponderosa & Thyme Wreath Workshop last winter makes me feel a little bit better, though! It was so much fun to get to create a wild, one of a kind wreath! I’d never made one before… ever! But as always, Katie was the best teacher. We got to drink hot cocoa, and munch on delicious Bigwig Donuts, interact with nature, and create something beautiful for our homes! Pretty perfect winter activity, if you ask me. As I sit at home, still trying to recover from a nasty cold, these photos warm my heart, and give me wishes for the rest of this holiday season! What are some of your favorite activities or traditions this time of year? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
Hey, That’s me! Photo snapped by Katie.
