Leslie and Christopher, two Portlanders who grew up in Oregon, are some of the kindest, funniest couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with. These two were married at YMCA Camp Silver Creek in Silverton, Oregon – the same exact place where they had met years before working as camp counselors. (How cool is that?!) Christopher designed their invitations, and lots of the other little details. Leslie is in love with all things tropical, so they tried to incorporate that wherever possible. (Please notice the amazing mini pineapples in her bridal bouquet by Belle Fleur!) This wedding was just really special. Looking through these photos, you’ll be able to tell that it wasn’t a traditional day by any means. Chris and Leslie really wanted this day to be about relaxing, soaking everything up, and having a ton of fun – they even asked their guests to get on board with this mission during the ceremony. After they said their vows, the new bride & groom spent some time alone together enjoying a woodland picnic. Then, they spent hours laughing, eating, drinking, and enjoying life with their friends and family! Swimming, kayaking, hula-hooping, bean bag toss games, and even archery were all on the menu, and it was a blast. The evening was finished off with a delicious dinner catered by Wild Pear, some sunset dancing, and then guests were even invited to stay the night in the camp cabins and join the couple for brunch in the morning! I absolutely loved being part of such a lighthearted, laughter-filled wedding day – unconventional in all the right ways. I hope this inspires you to think outside the box for your wedding, and focus on what is really important to you!
