I am so excited to be sharing this wedding today. If I’m being totally honest, I just loved this couple. I loved this wedding. I loved working with these vendors! It was just so lovely all around. Not a detail was missed!
From the bride, Zoe,
“From the moment that we got engaged, CJ and I had a vision for an intimate outdoor wedding that would be simple and romantic but also classic and elegant. Though we live in San Francisco, much our family is in the Pacific Northwest, and the moment we drove up to Zenith Vineyard we knew that the stunning vineyards were exactly the type of backdrop we were hoping for.
Our favorite part of the day was hands-down the ceremony. My father built the the 10 foot cross that was the focal point behind us at the ceremony, walked me down the aisle, and performed the ceremony. Our mothers were of course seated in the places of honor, CJ’s father opened the ceremony with a prayer, and all seven of our siblings & siblings-in-law stood with us as a part of the wedding party along with our closest friends. It was so meaningful to us to be so literally surrounded and supported by the people who mean the most to us in the world as we committed our lives to each other.
I was was extremely hands-on in planning everything, and it was a huge highlight to see all of the stress of long-distance planning and work pay off, so that once we arrived in Oregon the week before the wedding, it truly was just a week of celebration and relaxation with our family and wedding party who live all across the country and aren’t often together.
Particularly it was special to see all the small touches with meaning that everyone else may not have necessarily known about: things like the gold vase centerpieces that I had gone to three different stores to find enough of, the bonnet from my dedication that was used as a handkerchief to put the communion bread on, and the flowers that my bridesmaids and I had fun cutting ourselves a couple days prior at my aunt and uncle’s farm. Our florist Ali was so wonderful to work with us to include those flowers that we got to cut ourselves, and absolutely made our vision of soft and romantic florals come to life. It was also special that our four flower girls were the daughters of my cousins who had been the flower girls at my parent’s wedding 31 years ago!
It had been nerve-wracking to pass off all our lists and boxes of decor that my parents and I had carted in a u-haul all the way from California to our coordinator Stephani the day before the wedding, but she executed everything flawlessly and the day went exactly how we envisioned.
Most of all though, the day was special not because of the details or the decor, but because we felt so surrounded by love. It was one of our priorities and criteria about our wedding that it be not just a celebration of our marriage, but a celebration of all the people attending who have played a huge role in our lives and our love story. And that is exactly how it played out, a day that felt so unique to us and our guests—down to the way CJ’s groomsmen knew I loved Christmas, so they convinced the DJ to play Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and everyone on the dance floor absolutely just had the best time dancing to it even if it was in the middle of a vineyard in August. Those are the things that we never could have planned, but were what made our day perfect. “
So thankful to have this wedding featured on Trendy Bride.
