Sometimes there are gems hidden in plain sight, in your own hometown. That’s how I feel about the locations that we chose for Karissa and Kyle’s engagement session. Two parks that I know and love well, but that are truly so beautiful – especially in the presence of two people in love! Kyle proposed to Karissa at Bush Park in Salem, so we went back there for their engagement photos, and it was so sweet and special. I’m obsessed with the dress Karissa wore, from Rent the Runway (which is such an amazing website, by the way! A great resource for engagement session attire!) Her beautiful ring, and cute little “joy” tattoo were perfect accessories, and she and Kyle just fit so well together! Kyle had a smile on his face throughout the whole shoot – clearly so happy to be with his wife-to-be! I can’t wait for their beautiful wedding in October!

Cassidy and Ty are the sweetest couple, and so beautiful together! Can you believe they’re not professional models?

These two have a love that has spanned over many states and many years – dating back to when they met at a church camp in high school. They got engaged in San Francisco, and then while Ty, (originally from Texas,) was on his first ever visit to Oregon, (where Cassidy grew up,) we shot their engagement photos! Since it was Ty’s first time here, I thought it was the perfect excuse to take him to one of the most beautiful places I could think of – Mary’s Peak!

We had the most amazing weather, and of course an incredible view. I’m in love with the dresses Cassidy picked out – so elegant and timeless, and beautiful in the wind. The wildflowers blooming over the hillside were the icing on the cake! This engagement session was truly a dream to photograph, and I can’t wait for their August wedding!

Springtime in Oregon is the most beautiful, and the most unpredictible. One day you’re blasting your AC, the next day you’re watching the rainstorms from under a cozy blanket inside. It’s my favorite time of year for shoots, but can also be tricky with the looming threat of rain. (Typical Oregon.) Luckily, Becca and Griffin were blessed with the PERFECT spring day for their engagement session in the Columbia Gorge. It truly could not have been better. (more…)
